EICC Edinburgh
Edinburgh's city-centre conference and exhibition venue. Tight loading access, and August is a different world.
The EICC is a conference venue with exhibition space within it, rather than an exhibition hall complex - which changes how you should plan a stand there.
Cromdale Hall - 1,185 sqm. The EICC's dedicated exhibition space, and where most trade exhibitions sit. Also seats up to 850 for dinner.
Atrium - 1,600 sqm. The main welcome point, usable on its own or with the Strathblane Hall. Often used for catering, registration and overflow exhibition.
Lennox Suite - up to 2,000. A moving floor converts it between raked auditorium, flat arena and tiered cabaret, so its usable exhibition footprint depends on the mode the organiser has booked. Confirm before designing.
Strathblane Hall - up to 850. Registration, catering and receptions.
Also: Pentland Suite (1,200, sub-divides into Sidlaw and Fintry at 300 each), Lomond Suite (600, sub-divides into Tinto, Moorfoot and Kilsyth), Platform 5 Cafe, and the Lammermuir, Moffat, Lowther, Menteith and Galloway break-out rooms.
A note on the numbers you will see quoted elsewhere: 1,185 sqm is the dedicated exhibition hall. Around 8,000 sqm is the venue's total floor area across all eight suites and 24 rooms. They are not the same thing, and the difference matters when you are sizing a stand.
City-centre location in Edinburgh's West End. Walking distance from Haymarket, and a short journey from Waverley. Around 25 minutes from Edinburgh Airport.
City-centre venue, so loading is materially tighter than at out-of-town sites. Loading slots and vehicle routes need confirming in advance, and Edinburgh's traffic restrictions apply.
August is the exception that catches people out. During the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe, hotel availability tightens sharply and prices rise across the city. If your show falls in August, book accommodation far earlier than you normally would - and expect crew costs to rise accordingly.
Outside festival season, rail connectivity is strong and accommodation is straightforward.

We build at the EICC from our Glasgow depot, 50 minutes away - against four to five hours for a contractor coming up from the south.
